Light in darkness

Inmates at the Maximum Security Prison in Cranston, RI experience the Wisdom for Good Retreat over the course of 12 weeks.

They unpack their relationship to moral goodness, human flourishing and work to craft their own version of a life of meaning, whether they are to be released in a few years or decades from now. They see that there has been and continues to be goodness in this world and that they can be a part of that experience starting today with small, modest acts of goodness.

Responsible for the flourishing of those under my command

In the Strategic Leadership International Course (SLIC), foreign military leaders from across the world, in a full month long residential leadership program, devote time to understanding how practical wisdom is central to the moral obligation they have as military leaders in a complex and fragile world. Through an examination of excerpts from the sacred texts of the world’s wisdom traditions, personal definitions of practical wisdom are developed by each leader.
